Troop News!

Scout Elections are upon us!

This year there are several changes to the elected and appointed Scout Leadership positions.   One Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) will be elected by the Troop and one Assistant Senior Patrol Leader will then be appointed by the elected SPL.   One Patrol Leader (PL) in each Patrol will be elected by the members of that Patrol.  An Assistant Patrol Leader, along with the other Patrol positions, will be then appointed  by each elected PL among the other members of that Patrol. The final Scout Leadership positions to be elected by the Troop will be for two Quartermasters (QMs), so only three Troop positions (1 SPL & 2 QMs) and one Patrol position for each Patrol  (PL) will be elected, with the remainder of the positions being appointed (all such elections and appointments made with the approval of the Scout Master and Assistant Scout Masters).

To get more information about all of our Troop Scout positions (including who makes the respective appointments),  please use the following link - Leadership Positions

To sign up for an elected position, please use the following Link.  - Leadership Election

We will hold the Elections at the September 11th Troop Meeting.  If you are running for a elected position, please be prepared to speak for a few minutes in front of the room at that meeting before the voting.

For those interested in an appointed position, we will open up self-nominations for such respective positions on September 14th  (more information to follow on the appointments).

 Pratts Wayne Bike Campout

Thanks for all who participated in our bike campout.  A bit of steamy weather for September, but it worked out well.  Our cooks did a great job cooking for other scouts, as well as the  Jambalaya dinner that Mr. Estes prepared for the adults.  It was reported that a drone did a fly-by our campsite and may have pictures of the fabulous dutch oven desserts that were consumed.  Lastly, please recall that any damp tents that were taken home need to be fully cleaned and dried before returning them at the next meeting.  Thanks
